Welcome to the tour information site for the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles 2008 Designer showhouse. For more than 25 years, Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles has enjoyed enormous popularity and exposure with Showhouses and also been able to benefit wonderful charities. A lot of time and effort went into selecting this year’s ideal destination and setting. We expect our 2008 Showhouse, located at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, to be our biggest and most popular home yet.

Built by Greenwood Communities and Resorts and hosted at Greenwood’s premier Upstate South Carolina community, The Reserve at Lake Keowee, the Atlanta Homes and Lifestyles 2008 Designer Showhouse combines the efforts of Keith Summerour of Summerour Architects and Nancy Pendergrast of Summerour Interiors in partnership with Beth Webb of Beth Webb Interiors.

This home is classic in its Belgian Country Retreat styling with a brick and wood exterior, open floor plan, and attention to
detail in the arches and vaulted ceilings. The design challenge for Summerour was achieving a home that incorporates the relaxation and pleasure of a lakeside pavilion for a very busy family of five. Currently under construction, the five-bedroom, five-and-one-half-bath Showhouse will have 7,280 square feet of livable space and the property features a natural sandy beach and boat dock.

Taking advantage of the home's location on the shores of pristine Lake Keowee, the architects integrated expansive pictures windows to allow views of the lake from every room in the house. Additionally, a two-story structure attached to the house allows panoramic views of the lake from a screened terrace on the first floor and an open-air pavilion on the second, each with its own fireplace.

Sliding doors open the main floor living space to wrap-around porches that double the living area and bring the outdoors in. Designed in a soft, contemporary manner with a northern European influence, these porches feature a muted palette with textural materials including hardwood floors and plush comfortable rugs. The kitchen is designed to seamlessly blend into the overall living area with the appliances, cabinets, island and multiple work spaces camouflaged through color and design to take on the characteristics of the greater surroundings.

The master bedroom is on the second floor entry level and provides incredible contemplative views from a promontory site projecting into the lake. Each bedroom employs a cool palette, while embracing the understated elegance of a Belgian country retreat. Directly off the master bedroom is an art gallery, specifically designed with a 360 degree walkway to showcase art collections and views of the lake.

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the 3,900-acre The Reserve at Lake Keowee community in Sunset, SC, already has more than $100 million worth of amenities in place. Featuring The Village, an amenities center that includes a Nicklaus Signature golf course, a 200-slip Marina, Tennis Courts, Interim Fitness Center, Pool Pavilion, Marina Post Office and Market and a community clubhouse, The Reserve resides on nearly 30 miles of shoreline on crystal clear Lake Keowee.
